Shooting from the hip with a kiddo in tow

It was fun to watch Davidson College, one of the institutions my company works with, go against Kansas, a member of my favorite conference, and stood their ground.  It was Davidson, not Kansas, that determined who would win and everyone who love college ball will not soon forget Stephen Curry, an amazing Sophomore that is going to return next year.  continue reading…

I love the Broncs, the Buffs, the Nugs, and the Avs. One team I do not follow, because they suck, is the Rocks. Who knew they can actually play and get into the World Series? Hell and do it without losing a game? Sounds a lot like the movie Major League. But here we are. So since I am a Colorado Sports fan (minus CSU, they will always suck), I will jump in and watch a sport that up to now, I had very little invested in.

Watching the Soxs against the movie players of the Tribe, I was stunned at the power of Ortiz, Ramirez and Youkilis. They took the tribe and made them look like the bad news bears. Colorado came into game 1 just like how the tribe left game seven, stunned. Oh well, after suffering through the Buffs last two seasons, I think I can handle this disappointment. Go Rockies!

I just got back from Katalina and Ruben’s soccer games and took a look at the college scoreboard. My college, University of Colorado where Keyla and I fell in love, beat No. 3 Oklahoma! Texas is in a fight with Kansas State but my goodness, I am flying high! Ruben played his best game yet and Katalina ran hard, HARD! To come home and see that my old school beat a top ten team, I am in heaven. Wow…

Go CU!

Sep 22

OMG, CU destroyed Miami (Ohio) today. My old stomping grounds finally put together a complete game. Balance air and ground attack with the usual stout defense. This is looking great until you look at who we play next week…OU…hmm, oh well… GO CU!

I am a minor sports nut. I love:

The Broncos
The Nuggets
The Avalanche
The Rapids
The Buffs (all sports)
CC Tigers Hockey

See a pattern there? All Colorado teams, that is where my athletic heart will always be. So when I get a break from my busy schedule, I watch a game or two especially if one of the above teams are playing.

The Nuggets were knocked out early in the NBA playoffs by the Spurs who went on a rampage and tore the Jazz a new one. Yes, there is no question who is the best from the West. But last night, I watched a game that ranks up there with:

The Miracle at Michigan
The Drive
The Upset

Lebron James did what every superstar needed to do, he took over. In the second half of the fourth quarter and in both overtimes, James went on a shooting frenzy and knocked down 29 of the last 30 points for his team with 25 points consecutively. He dunked, blocked, stole and drove like a man on a mission. The gentle team player had to turn into a scoring monster to save his team. A man that is by far the best in the league. I was on the edge of my seat reading the live feed from the web and was just as loud as if I was watching the events unfold on television. I would love to see the final quarter of action but I need not to worry. What happened last night will be logged in sporting history like so many other great moments. King James, thank you for a great show.
